Inclusive Resource and Training Centre
Ramakrishna Mission, Batticaloa, with an objective to help people with special abilities, began an Inclusive Resource and Training Centre (IRTC) on 6 March 2023. The centre, designed specifically for visually challenged persons, was inaugurated by Swami Satyeshananda, Assistant General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. The centre will provide latest accessibility tools, assistive technologies and training facilities for visually challenged persons.
The centre, with the support of Karna Vidya Foundation, Chennai, provided a month-long online training program for instructors from 6 April 2023 to 8 June 2023. The instructors received training in Computer and MS Office Operations intended for visually challenged persons.
On 8 July 2023, three students associated with our Mission departed for India to undertake training and graduation programs in special education at FDMSE and GAPEY in RKMVERI, Coimbatore Campus. Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, has provided extensive support in this regard.
