Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna

Universal Temple is one of the key features of several Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission centres across the world. Conceived by Swami Vivekananda and deftly executed by Swami Vijnanananda, the Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna in Belur Math stands as a colossal symbol of spiritual harmony and renaissance. The temple, with architectural blend from Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, and other faiths, stands as an exemplary model of universal brotherhood and oneness.

The new temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna in Ramakrishna Mission, Batticaloa, was built in place of an old prayer hall for students. On 1 February 2021, Swami Aksharatmananda, Vice President, Ramakrishna Mission, Sri Lanka, consecrated this new temple in the presence of the senior monk Swami Rajeswarananda, other monastic brothers, devotees, well-wishers and the public. The new temple features an impressive architectural frontage and a serene sanctum sanctorum, with a capacity to accommodate up to five hundred people.
